This page explains what VybeScript’s website stores on your device and how to control it. It covers the website only. The VybeScript app does not use cookies and does not send your audio or dictated text anywhere; see the Privacy Policy for the full picture.

The short version

What we use

NameWho sets itWhat it is forWhen it is set
vs-analytics-consent, vs-analytics-consent-atVybeScript (browser local storage, not a cookie)Remember whether you accepted or rejected the cookie notice and when, so we do not ask on every page. The choice expires after 6 months and we ask again. When you click Accept or Reject
vs-lang-suggest-dismissedVybeScript (browser local storage, not a cookie)Remembers that you dismissed the suggestion to switch the site language. When you dismiss that suggestion
_ga, _ga_*Google AnalyticsTell visits apart so we can count pages visited, how visitors arrived, approximate location (city or country level) and device type. Google keeps these for up to about two years by default.Only after you click Accept
Referral cookieLemon Squeezy affiliate scriptIf you arrive through an affiliate’s link, it lets the affiliate be credited if you buy. Lemon Squeezy sets its lifetime.Only after you click Accept, and only if you arrived through a referral link
“Featured on” badge images (Product Hunt, Fazier, Startup Fame, Findly, Turbo0)Those third-party sitesShow the badges in the page footer. Loading them sends the site that serves each image your IP address and browser type, and it may set its own cookies.Only after you click Accept

Local storage works like a cookie in that it lives in your browser, but it is never sent to us with page requests. The two local-storage entries above are only used to remember your own choices.

If you reject or do not answer

Google Analytics is not loaded at all, so Google receives no request from your browser, not even a cookieless ping. The Lemon Squeezy affiliate script and the footer badge images are not requested either. The site works the same. Our own page-hosting provider (Vercel) still receives your IP address and browser type to deliver the page, as described in the Privacy Policy.

Third-party sites

When you buy, you are sent to a Lemon Squeezy checkout page on their domain. Lemon Squeezy sets its own cookies there under its own policy. Linked sites (for example the badge links in the footer) may set their own cookies when you click through to them. See the Privacy Policy for who we share data with.
