This End User License Agreement (“Agreement”) is between you and Box Creative Studio, a product of Box Creative International, Inc. (“we,” “us,” “our”), and governs your use of the VybeScript macOS application (“Software”). By installing, activating, or using the Software, you agree to this Agreement. If you don’t agree, don’t install or use the Software.
1. License grant
Subject to a valid, active license (Lifetime or Yearly Pass, as purchased through our website) and your compliance with this Agreement, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the Software on the number of Macs permitted by your license tier, for as long as your license remains valid (perpetually for Lifetime; for the active subscription term for Yearly Pass).
2. What you may do
- Install and use the Software on the Macs allowed by your activation limit (shown in the app’s License window), moving it between Macs you own using “Deactivate this Mac.”
- Use the Software for personal or business purposes.
3. What you may not do
You may not:
- Share, sublicense, rent, lease, or resell your license key, or use it beyond the permitted activation limit.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Software, except to the extent applicable law expressly permits despite this restriction.
- Remove or obscure any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices in the Software.
- Use the Software to build a competing product, or extract its bundled models/components for use outside the Software.
- Circumvent or tamper with license activation/validation.
4. Ownership
The Software — including its code, design, the VybeScript name and app icon, and the “blob” visual identity — is owned by Box Creative Studio and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. This Agreement grants you a license to use the Software; it does not sell or transfer any ownership rights.
Third-party components
VybeScript bundles open-source components used under their own permissive licenses, including whisper.cpp and a Whisper speech-recognition model (both MIT-licensed). Attribution and license text for these are included in the app’s Acknowledgments section (Settings → Acknowledgments). Your rights to those specific components are governed by their own licenses in addition to this Agreement.
5. Updates
The Software checks for and can install updates (via Sparkle) to bring you new versions, which may add, change, or remove functionality. This Agreement applies to all versions and updates unless a new version ships with its own terms.
6. Privacy
The Software processes your microphone audio and text entirely on-device, as described in our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference. The only network calls the Software makes for your account are license activation/validation requests to our payment processor’s license API.
7. No warranty
The Software is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the maximum extent permitted by law.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Box Creative Studio will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Software, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability under this Agreement will not exceed the amount you paid for your license in the 12 months before the claim.
9. Term and termination
This Agreement is effective until terminated. It terminates automatically if you breach it. We may revoke a license key used in violation of this Agreement. Upon termination, you must stop using the Software and may be asked to uninstall it. Sections 4, 7, 8, and 11 survive termination.
10. Export compliance
You agree to comply with all applicable export and re-export control laws and regulations in your use of the Software.
11. Governing law
This Agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
12. Changes
We may update this Agreement from time to time; the effective date above will reflect the latest version. Material changes will be noted in release notes or on this page.
