Which apps does VybeScript work in?

When it copies instead of pasting

VybeScript puts the text on your clipboard, and you press ⌘V, in these cases:

• Accessibility is off.
• There was no app to type into. Click into the app first, then record.
• A password field or other secure input is active. Nothing is typed there.
• You switched to another app before the text was ready.
• VybeScript could not bring the app forward or insert the text, or macOS blocked the paste in that app.
• VybeScript could not confirm that the paste worked. Your text is left on the clipboard, so press ⌘V if it did not appear.

The status line tells you which one happened, for example "Copied to clipboard. Press Command-V to paste."

Click into the app you want to type in before you record.

Apps it recognizes for layout

For the Format as feature, VybeScript groups apps by kind. For example:

• Mail: Apple Mail, Outlook, Superhuman, Airmail, MailMate and others.
• Chat: Messages, Slack, WhatsApp, Telegram, Discord, Teams, Signal and others.
• Documents: Pages, Word, TextEdit, iA Writer, Ulysses and others.
• Notes: Apple Notes, Notion, Obsidian, Bear, Things, Reminders and others.
• Code: Xcode, VS Code, Terminal, iTerm, Warp and others. These do not change the layout.

Browsers and unlisted apps are treated as unknown, so your words decide the layout. This only affects layout in Polish and Formal. It has no effect on whether text is pasted.

Works anywhere you can type

VybeScript pastes at the cursor, so it works in the app you were already using. Click where you want the text, then dictate.
