macOS says VybeScript can't be opened
Quick fix
Drag VybeScript out of the download window and into your Applications folder, then open it from there. VybeScript is meant to be installed that way, and it cannot update itself when it is run from a disk image or a temporary location.
Step by step
- Open the VybeScript download (a disk image). Drag VybeScript into Applications. Then eject the VybeScript disk image: in a Finder window, click the eject button next to it in the sidebar.
- Open Applications and double-click VybeScript.
- macOS may ask you to confirm that you want to open an app downloaded from the Internet. If it does, confirm to continue.
- If macOS shows a message saying the app is damaged, delete it and download a fresh copy from our website, on a stable connection. A download that was interrupted is one possible cause.
- Check that your Mac can run it. VybeScript needs a Mac with Apple Silicon (M1 or later) and macOS 14 or later. If your Mac does not meet that, the app cannot open.
- If macOS still blocks a copy you downloaded from our website, open System Settings, go to Privacy & Security and look near the Security section for a message about VybeScript. If macOS offers a way to open it anyway, use it.
Still not working?
Only download VybeScript from our website. If a copy came from anywhere else, do not open it. If a fresh download still gets blocked, email us at hello@boxcreativestudio.com with your macOS version and the exact wording of the warning.
