How do I update VybeScript?

Step by step

1. Click Vybe in your menu bar and choose Check for Updates…. The same button is also in Settings, on the About card, next to your version number.
2. If an update is found, click the install button in the window that appears and let it finish.
3. If you are not sure whether one is waiting, look at the menu bar. When VybeScript finds an update on its own, a dot appears next to Vybe and the menu shows Update available: install followed by the new version number. The same dot also appears when a longer version of a dictation is waiting, so open the menu to see which it is. The main window also shows a banner with Install update and Later buttons, and macOS may show a notification.
4. VybeScript checks by itself on a schedule. If you leave a waiting update, it reminds you at most about once a day.
5. If macOS notifications are turned off for VybeScript, the update window opens by itself instead.

What an update keeps

An update keeps your settings, your license, your history and your taught words. It does not download the speech models again: they are stored on your Mac outside the app, and when VybeScript starts it checks which models are already there and downloads only what is missing.

If the update will not install

• Check that you are online. Updates are downloaded from the internet.
• Make sure VybeScript is in your Applications folder, not running from the download window or a disk image.
• Choose Quit from the Vybe menu, open VybeScript again, then check again.
• If it keeps failing, download the newest version from our website and install it over the old one; see Uninstall or reinstall.
