How does the free trial work?
Short answer
The free trial unlocks the full app for 14 days or 5,000 dictated words, whichever comes first. It is free, needs no card, and never renews. Your trial key arrives by email.
Details
- Start it: in the License window, click Start your free trial (it only appears on a Mac that has never had a trial), or use the trial button on the pricing page. The free checkout asks only for your email. Paste the key from the email into the License window and click Activate.
- See what is left: click the VybeScript icon in the menu bar and choose License…. It shows words and days left. VybeScript also shows a "running low" notice when you are close to either limit.
- When the 14 days start: they run from the day your trial key is issued, not from the day you activate it.
- How words are counted: the app counts the words it delivers to you, separated by spaces or line breaks. The count stays on your Mac. If one dictation takes you past the limit, that dictation is still delivered in full.
- When it ends: dictation stops until you activate a plan, and the License window shows the plans. Nothing is deleted. Choose a plan and activate its key to keep going. See the plans explained.
- One trial per Mac. A second trial key on the same Mac is refused, and an ended trial stays ended. Reinstalling VybeScript does not start a new one. The Terms of Service say one trial per person and Mac.
- Deactivating does not reset it. Using Deactivate this Mac frees the key, but the words already used on this Mac stay counted.
- Already paid? If a paid license is active on your Mac, you do not need a trial key. The app will say so.
- Emails: we send up to two emails about your trial, one a few days before it ends and one after. You can reply "stop" to end them.
